6 Weeks of Flying Pig Marathon Training Done!

Another week of total mileage in the 50’s. Weather warmed up some this week, which was a nice break for the cold January we had. Training is going well so far!

Daily Recaps:

â—¾ Monday: Close to 9 miles of rolling hills at a faster than average pace. Ended up around 7:05 pace for the run.

â—¾ Tuesday: Last week featured longer intervals, so went back to my shortest intervals, 12x400m. Took 60 seconds of jogging to recover between reps and felt good throughout. Averaged around 80-85 seconds per rep.

â—¾ Wednesday: Easy miles to recover from 2 days of harder runs

â—¾ Thursday: Was downtown for the day working, so decided to run some of the Flying Pig course. It was REALLY windy, but fortunately the wind was at my back during a lot of the hills. Made it around 7 miles at goal MP pace for a total of 9 miles on the run.

â—¾ Friday: A few easy miles just to get the total mileage for the week up to plan. Nice, easy and relaxed around the neighborhood.

â—¾ Saturday: Long Run with Mojo RC. Put together a little over 16 miles at around 7:30 pace with the group. Threw in a few stretches of faster stretches, including a couple minutes at near 100% effort to take a Strava Segment!

â—¾ Sunday: Super Bowl Rest Day!
